1.ORIGIN OF SOIL:

     The soil are named as below depending upon it source and type.

             Source                        Type of Soil

             River                   -        Alluvial soil

             Lake                    -        Lacustrine

             Sea                      -        Marine soils

             Wind                   -        Aeolian soil (Uniform deposite)

             Gravitation        -        Colluvial soil (Talus)

             Glacier(ice)        -        Drift , Till.

Marl                        - Fine calcium carbonate Soil of marine region

Varved Clay           - Contains Alternate layer of clay and silt         

Moorum                 - Gravel mixed with red clay

Loam                      - Mixture of Sand, Silt, & Clay (Approx. equal)

Sequence of Process:

                The soils are formed by the following sequence of process

WEATHERING - TRANSPORTATION - DEPOSITION - UPHEAVAL

Note: Soil has Montmorillonite cause excessive swelling and shrinkage - Black cotton soil (Chemically weathered)
